Service One has been providing an alternative approach to carpet cleaning since 1985. Our philosophy of putting the customer first mandates that we do things differently. We believe in providing the customer with a safe, high quality, hassel-free service. This is accomplished by using only the finest all natural cleaning agents, while rejecting the industry-wide use of potentially toxic carpet protectors and the high pressure tactics used to sell them. This no-nonsense approach, combined with high quality cleaning standards, makes Service One the top choice of the educated consumer.
Found in virtually everyone's blood, passed from mother to baby in breast milk. Birth defects of employees working on production line. Company fails to fully disclose risks. Sound familiar? These are the latest allegations that Dupont is facing
We have a vested interest in the health and well-being of our customers. As owner-operators we, too, are exposed to the products daily. Our country has a track record of putting big business interests over the public's welfare. Big tobbacco, asbestos producers, silicone breast implants, the list goes on and on. We have decided to be procative rather than reactive when it comes to the products we use. Our approach is simple. Never use potentially harmful detergents, disenfectants or topical coatings. For over 27 years we have seen chemical after chemical be banned due to toxicity. At first it was butyl-based cleaners. They were water based agents that acted like solvents and were later deemed to be very unsafe. Next it was chlorinated solvents like Trichlorethelene, an extremely toxic solvent dry spotter. These toxins were routinely used in homes by carpet cleaners. Recent research suggests that topical coatings like Dupont Teflon and 3M's Scotchguard are hazardous. The EPA has stated that these chemicals are likely carcinogens. Amazingly, 99.99% of carpet cleaners continue to use them everyday! Just as our country is addicted to oil, carpet cleaning firms are addicted to selling these Carpet Protectors; their very survival depends on it. Most firms earn up to half of their income pushing these chemicals. High pressure sales tactics, rehearsed sales pitches and deceptive demonstrations are all used to " get the sale". Proper cleaning tecniques, attention to detail and workmanship have become secondary to quick profits. Customers call cleaning firms to have things cleaned, not because they want toxic chemicals applied in their homes. New advancements in green cleaning technology actually out-perform previously toxic formulations. These green products cost more but are well worth it. We feel our "All Natural approach" should be the norm not the exception.

Kawasaki Syndrome is a potentially fatal disease that affects small children. A direct relashionship between carpet cleaning and the disease has never been proven but has been implicated. Protect your family and educate yourself. The dangers of not knowing what is going into your carpet or not coming out of it during the cleaning process can be unhealthy. Our final cleaning step is a clear water rinse. This insures maximum removal of any residue. We have never had an instance of Kawasaki syndrome in over 23 years in business.
